Lovable ugly dog finds a home
ROSS PARRY SYNDICATION: This loveable puppy has found a home for Christmas despite being a strong contender for the title of Britain's ugliest dog.
Two-year-old pointer cross Doug, who is deaf and blind in one eye, was facing the prospect of spending the festive season without a family after his unconventional looks failed to win over visitors to the Mayflower Sanctuary.
But kind-hearted April Parker was instantly won over by his quirky appearance and couldn't resist Doug's inner charm after spotting him on the website.
The partially blind two-year-old pointer cross had been ignored for months at an animal shelter - where he had been nicknamed Ug.
Then cafe worker April Parker, 35, spotted the mutt - renamed Doug - and took daughters Skye, 15, and Jasmin, 13, to see him in Doncaster, South Yorks - and they were all smitten.
April paid 200 pounds to take him home. She said: "He looks comical with his bug eyes and cross teeth and he's always bumping into things."
